I stumbled upon this picture this evening as I was rummaging through some old photos. It’s me feeding my little chick Mabel with an eye dropped. She didn’t make it in the end, but I certainly tried everything to keep her around.
Pearl, Hazel, and Winnie are all doing well. A little bored I think with the weather so chilly. I started feeding them some extra scratch, which is a mixture of dried oats and corn, to fatten them up for the winter. The extra padding should keep them cozier on these chilly nights as they cuddle together on their roosts.

I enjoy checking in on your blog. I can’t wait to see how the sheet mulching comes out. Do you expect to have killed off the grass by planting time? I have removed plenty of sod, but always with machines. Good luck!
